A few changes for Red Eye! Bottom line up front - a readymade coffee for folks on the go, a change in prices for individually made coffee offerings, and an earlier closing time.
Red Eye's mission has been to introduce people to amazing coffee, carefully prepared one cup at a time, which is second to none in Athens. However, many customers are in a hurry and may choose to skip Red Eye when time is tight. I've found a solution that does not sacrifice Red Eye quality for speed. Now you can pick up a delicious Quick Coffee, a skillfully brewed cup of coffee that is ready when you are. Add to that bagels, croissants, Dondero's Kitchen goodies and some other surprises coming soon and you have a great place to stop in the morning.
I'm hoping that Quick Coffee and a slight increase in price for single cup Chemex and French pressed coffee will allow Red Eye the flexibility to bring additional distinctive coffees and to explore other interesting brewing techniques. My goal is to give you even more to choose from on every visit.
Red Eye will be closing at 6 p.m. starting February 20th. As regular customers know, Red Eye is currently a one man operation. It's no longer feasible for me to sustain these long hours; the stress is affecting my ability to interact well with customers. My hope is that additional time away from the Red Eye will, quite frankly, improve my mood and service to you. As business increases and I can hire a staff, so will shop hours.
Thanks for your time and I hope to see you at Red Eye soon!
