Our first couple of months at Red Eye have certainly stirred up the Athens coffee market. On January 19th, Grub Notes said that we "make the best espresso... in Athens, served at exactly the right temperature and with amazing development on the palate." Thanks Hillary! That's what I've been trying to bring to town.

So what is new at Red Eye? Since summer is here and it is CRAZY hot outside, you might want to try one of our coffees iced. Our iced coffee is fresh brewed by the cup as a hot beverage and then filters down to a bed of ice inside a Chemex. It is the freshest iced coffee in town and really captures the sweet and bright aspects of coffee. I would suggest trying it with one of our African coffees. Of course you can also try a delicious iced latte also. We are also carrying some new iced teas. Iced teas like the naturally sweet Nilgiri will make you think of warm summer evenings in the back yard or the iced Green Tea with Mango are excellent additions to any hot summer day. On top of all that, have started to sell Counter Culture Coffee whole bean coffee, so you can take home some of the awesomeness.

I also wanted to take second to tell you about the great gelato that I have right now. Our supplier, il gelato, sent me some wonderful lemon sorbet samples. This is defiantly not what you get at the supermarket in the 5 gallon tub. It has a light, sweet lemon tanginess that envelops your tongue and makes your mouth water. It is a real treat that only the true artisan Juan Rubin at il gelato can whip up.

Stop in soon to check out Red Eye and see what we brew up next.
